TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

-Keep the fresh tattoo covered with the bandage for at least 2 hours, no longer than 24 hours. Do not remove the bandage until you are at a place where you can clean the tattoo.

-Wash the tattooed area thoroughly with soap and water. Do not use anything abrasive like scrubs or exfoliator.

-When dry, apply a thin layer of Aquaphor to the tattoo. Do not re- bandage.

-Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor at least 2x per day for 3 days.

-After 3 days, or when the tattoo starts to peel, after cleaning, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion. We suggest Lubriderm or Curel.

-Avoid direct sun exposure and do not soak the tattoo in water (pools and baths) for at least 2 weeks.

PIERCING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Clean your new piercing 2x per day for the first two weeks.

What to use:

You can use Woundwash or packaged sterile saline (with no additives, read the label). If sterile saline is not available in your area use a sea salt solution mixture. Dissolve 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of iodine-free sea salt into one cup (8oz) of warm distilled or bottled water. For oral piercings, use Biotene, or Antimicrobial/alcohol-free mouth rinse.

Cleaning Steps:

Wash your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching your piercing. Saline flush for 5-10 seconds 2x per day. Clean off with a clean Qtip. With a clean Qtip, gauze, or cottonball saturated with saline solution, soak the piercing for 5 minutes then clean off with a clean Qtip. It is not necessary to rotate the jewelry. Dry by gently patting with clean, disposable paper products. 

Cleaning inside the mouth:

Rinse with the cleaning solution for 30 seconds after meals and at bedtime (4-5 times per day). If you are a smoker, rinse with the cleaning solution after smoking as well. 

Helpful Information:

-Use a Qtip to apply tea tree oil to avoid keloids.

-No swimming for 4 weeks!

-Some initial bleeding, tenderness, localized swelling, and bruising may be normal.

-While healing some itching, discoloration, secretion of whitish-yellow fluid (not pus) may form a crust on the jewelry. 

-Avoid moving jewelry in an unhealed piercing or picking away dried discharge with your fingers.

-Do not use any other products without talking to your piercer!
